The Quick find function found on the top left corner performs an exact search against the database, looking for an acronym that is the same as the text entered. On the contrary, the search function allows you to search for acronyms in different ways.
Form elements
The search form, reproduced in the following picture, has the following fields:
field Search for: insert the acronym (or part of it) you are searching for;
combo box Search option: specifies whether to search for an acronym that is exactly, begins with or contains the text you entered in the Search for field;
button Search for acronyms: click on this button to perform your search.
Tips
Don't use periods or other separators unless they are part of the acronym;
the search engine is case-insensitive;
if you don't find what you're looking for, try to browse by category;
if you still haven't found your acronym, a list of altenative sites is available.
